Tall, slender, with long, trailing silver hair and silver eyes that seem "almost transparent" in a way that's almost unnerving. He dresses in robes of sea blue, and he wears a blue gemstone bracelet; this gemstone is a cintamani stone that contains lethal poison.

Hwylryn is a dragon, which are magical beasts close to deities in terms of power and influence. He holds dominion over the sea and skies and can do all sorts of fantastical feats of magic (flying, producing jewels, shift the weather... etc). Nature bends to him, and he's often followed by a procession of mermaids. He uses learned magic to take the form of a beautiful human.

Dragons are typically prideful and arrogant, but Hwylryn is amicable, charming, and whimsical. He expresses his feelings plainly, and it's easy to move his heart. He can be clingy and a little childish, like a little brother who never fully grew up. He loves trying new things, meeting new people, and would love nothing more than to be at peace with the people he loves. He lost both his elder twin brother and his dearest friend—both victim to their own hubris—and, heartbroken, Hwylryn himself chose death in battle than to suffer grief again— but not before briefly achieving revenge for at least one of these deaths.
